The Giro d'Italia and Tour de France winner has signed the biggest rider contract ever seen
La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed some of the figures involved in Tadej Pogačar’s bumper new contract with UAE Team Emirates, with the Italian publication stating that the three-time Tour winner has extended his position as the best-paid rider in the world following his phenomenal 2024 season.
Pogačar signed a six-year contract extension following his winning ride at the UCI Road World Championships in Zurich, with the Slovenian now contracted to UAE Team Emirates until the end of the 2030 season. The new deal followed a sensational season that also saw Pogačar win in the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia. No rider on the men’s side has done that since Marco Pantani in 1998.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the terms of Pogačar’s new deal involve a salary hike from €7 million per season (excluding bonuses) to €8 million, totting up his current earning rate to €48M for the remainder of his new deal.
