A golden age for Scandinavian pro cycling?

Denmark and Norway have always been keen cycling countries, and the Tour de France enjoys huge popularity there. This is aided by the fact that over the decades, riders from both Nordic countries have notched up memorable and significant victories.
The question now is: are the two Scandinavian countries entering a new golden age?
In recent years, Danish and Norwegian riders have notched up an impressive amount of success, especially considering their relatively small professional ranks compared to huge cycling nations such as France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain.
Those ranks are of course led by a Danish cycling star, who, six years ago, was packing fish at a factory in the North Sea port of Hanstholm: Jonas Vingegaard.
Prior to Vingegaard, the only Scandinavian to have ever won the Tour de France was Denmark’s Bjarne Riis in 1996, a victory overshadowed by his admission of using EPO.
