Becoming a WorldTour neo-pro at 28 🤯
Paul Double has joined Jayco AlUla on a two-year contract after almost a decade of racing in the lower ranks
Modern cycling is all about finding the next talent, and the new up-and-coming riders that spring up at the junior level and cause waves on the transfer market.
However, now and then a rider comes along and bucks that trend. Paul Double is such a rider.
At 28 he’s set to make his WorldTour debut for Jayco AlUla in 2025 and the British climber is ready to seize his chance after a career in the lower ranks of the sport finally paid off.
“I’m sure everyone has said this but it’s been a bumpy road,” Double told us earlier this year after his move to the Australian team was announced.
Double’s career path certainly differs from many of the WorldTour riders who break into the top echelons of the sport.
