π¨ Breaking news: Ineos Grenadiers will have a U23 team in 2026 π¬π§
After months of speculation the team has been given the green light and has started making moves on the transfer market
Hi Subscribers,
I can exclusively reveal that Ineos Grenadiers will have a U23 team in 2026 and that the team is currently finalising rider contracts.
Over the last 24 hours, several sources have confirmed the news to me. Itβs unclear who will be the lead sports directors at the team, but Performance Director Scott Drawer and Simon Watts, the Performance Pathway Manager for Ineos Grenadiers, are the driving forces behind the team.

Watts spoke to us exclusively earlier this year and confirmed that Ineos Grenadiers had a long-standing desire to set up a U23 project.
At the time, it was unclear whether the project would happen for the next season, and there were moments when it seemed highly unlikely. However, the word on the mean streets of Lille ahead of Saturdayβs Tour de France Grand Depart is that the U23 team has been greenlit and that riders are in the process of being signed.
