At just 18, Cat Ferguson is one of the most talented young riders in the Women’s WorldTour.

Her sensational year on the road netted her two rainbow jerseys at the UCI Road World Championships in Zurich, while she also picked up her first two elite road wins while racing as a stagiaire at Movistar. Now locked into the Spanish WorldTour team for at least the next three years, the rider from Yorkshire seemingly has the world at her feet.

However, despite all the hype around her, Ferguson is keeping her feet firmly on the ground, and when we caught up with her exclusively at Rouleur Live, she explained that longevity was more important than instant success when it came to developing in the WorldTour.

“You know, I spoke to a lot of teams when I was approached last year but Movistar felt like a family. The DS, Sebastián Unzué, was so welcoming and the vision that they had for me made me really excited about the future,” Ferguson told us.
