Chris Froome (Israel Premier Tech) underwent surgery in Dubai after breaking his collarbone on the final day of the UAE Tour.

The four-time Tour de France winner hit the deck on Sunday’s final stage of the race.

Israel Premier Tech later confirmed that the 39-year-old would be assessed on Monday morning.

We can confirm that the medical checks resulted in surgery just a few hours ago. This will mean Froome could be back on the turbo trainer as early as tomorrow. However, his return to Europe has not yet been finalised, and he could remain in Dubai for a few days as he recovers from the surgery. We understand that this will depend on the surgeon’s recommendations.
