Hey subscribers,

On Wednesday, CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto announced that Zoe Bäckstedt had extended her contract for another two years, with the team putting a key piece of the puzzle in place as they look to build for the future.

However, with so many of their leaders still out of contract for next season, the jigsaw is far from complete for Ronny Lauke’s team. With uncertainty swirling over the futures of Kasia Niewiadoma, Chloe Dygert, Chiara Consonni, and Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig, the next few weeks are going to be crucial for the team’s recruitment.

The team currently has four riders listed on the 2027 roster, but, as we understand it, some of the domestique-level riders have signed contract extensions and will be announced in the coming weeks.

However, Niewiadoma has been linked with several teams, most regularly Lidl-Trek, who remain on the lookout for leadership reinforcements. Lauke remains confident that he can agree on new terms with his former Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift winner.

“I dont have sleepless nights. The majority of the riders have transparent connections with the team, so if there’s ever a need to talk, they can talk to me, and on the other side, there’s a lot of talent out there that can be brought to the next level, so we just need to do our homework and do things right,” Lauke’s told me on the phone earlier today.
