The French rider's current deal expires at the end of 2027 and teams are beginning to circle

Even before the dust had settled on Strade Bianche, the respected Belgian journalist Bram Vandecapelle from Het Laatste Nieuws ran an exclusive story on UAE Team Emirates-XRG holding an interest in signing Paul Seixas.
Before we get into the full story, a complete analysis of the situation, and Decathlon’s exclusive response, there are a couple of points that need clarity.
The French rider’s current contract with Decathlon CMA CGM expires at the end of 2027, and, under the existing regulations, teams can approach a rider this far out from their contract ending but only with a view to checking whether they are interested in joining at a future date. If a rider’s already in the final year of their contract, negotiations can start immediately.
In the case of Seixas, who has more than a year left on his deal, teams can ask if he’s interested; however, full negotiations with rival teams cannot take place until the start of 2027, when Seixas is in the final year of his deal.

There is a slight caveat. So, with Seixas, whether it’s UAE Team Emirates-XRG or any other squad, according to the rules, an interested team must end their contact with the rider after the initial ‘are you interested phase?”, but if the rider does show interest, the pursuing team can approach the rider’s existing team to seek permission to open more formal negotiations. From there, the team that holds the existing rider contract can either accept or refuse the request.
