Early season performances will help shape Israel-Premier Tech's transfer strategy ✍️
Around half the squad are out of contract for 2026 but the core of the team is built for the future
With their return to the WorldTour in 2026 all but assured, Israel-Premier Tech has been reinforcing the team for the future, and with half the roster out of contract at the end of the year, the team has major wiggle room on the market.
However, Kjell Carlström, the general manager who has overseen the team’s consistent progress over the last few years, is in no rush to alter the team’s overall transfer policy. The squad’s development team and the core of the existing WorldTour roster will remain integral to the team's ambitions moving forward.
Joe Blackmore, Derek Gee and Stevie Williams are all on relatively long-term deals but the likes of Pascal Ackermann, Simon Clarke, George Bennett, Riley Pickrell, Jake Stewart, Mike Woods, and Matthew Riccitello are all up for renewal - and with Chris Froome likely to retire - Carlström has plenty of choices to make before the team returns to the top division in men’s cycling.
“We have been looking at that, together with the performance team, but I have to say that it’s a process that has been going on for a couple of years already. I believe that we’ve been able to solidify the team's core and ensure we have more depth. So we’re able to race on a better level throughout the races that we’re doing,” Carlström recently told us in an exclusive interview.
