🚨 EF Education-EasyPost swoop for world champion Mattia Agostinacchio 🇮🇹🇺🇸
One of the most talented junior riders in the world is heading to the US team in 2026

Good morning subscribers,
Just a short story from this morning, ahead of the Queen stage at the Tour of the Alps. I’ll be back later on today with an exclusive story focusing on Jayco-AlUla’s Giro aims and more transfer news.
For Founding Members of the Substack, there are audio interviews in the WhatsApp group with Jai Hindley and Damiano Caruso - along with some retro bike pics of Marco Pantani’s 1991 TT bike from the Giro Ciclistico d'Italia, one of Fausto Coppi’s Bianche machines, and one of Roger De Vlaeminck’s Gios bikes (sneak preview below). There’s also the latest on Olav Kooij’s transfer status, with just two teams left in the running.

We might need to wait a while for official communication on this, but from what we understand, teenage sensation Mattia Agostinacchio is set to sign a multi-year contract with EF Education-EasyPost starting from 2026.
He’s just 17 and has predominantly raced cyclocross, but given his pedigree, he could turn out to be one of the savviest signings of the year. Agostinacchio, who has an older brother in the Continental ranks, has been tipped for the very top, with one source following his career closely comparing him to a young Mathieu van der Poel. High praise indeed.
