Movistar are one of the most intriguing teams in the transfer market this season, as roughly a third of the squad will be out of contract at the end of the year, and they are in the process of establishing a brand new U23 men’s team for 2026.

As we have previously reported, Roger Adrià is a rider on the team’s radar, and we can confirm that discussions have taken place between the two parties regarding a potential transfer. Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe expects the Spanish rider to depart at the end of the season, with Movistar being his preferred destination. I anticipate this move will be announced quite early in August.

Another rider on the team’s shopping list is Juan Pedro López. Those talks may not have advanced as far as those involving Adrià, but I understand that Movistar are keen on the Spanish climber, who is out of contract at Lidl-Trek.

For now, though, the majority of Movistar’s business has centred around contract renewals. They’ve already announced that Enric Mas has extended his deal until the end of 2029, but there are around 10 more riders still on the agenda.
