Grading the latest WorldTour transfers
Analysing a new batch of moves for Vollering, Hamilton, Masnada, Hatherly, and Knaven
Hi Subscribers,
Here’s the latest batch of transfer analysis from the WorldTour, and an extra rider from the development scene thrown in for good measure. After a quiet start to the week, I feel like we’re back on track with multiple stories per day.
I know the pace of coverage traditionally slows a little bit as we move deeper into winter but I’m committed to writing throughout each week and next month the aim is to attend training camps and pick up lots of exclusive interviews with riders and team bosses.
I’m also thinking about provisional ideas and plans for early-season race coverage. As ever, I never want to over-commit and underdeliver - especially when it comes to your loyalty but I really enjoyed the recent trip to the London 3 Day and could see real value in making those types of travel commitments to generate more content for you.
It was really exciting but a little scary, trying to weigh up the cost of travel with the return on coverage, but I want to back myself with this Substack and your support has helped me do that. I’m not considering travelling to TDU next January, that’s a whole different level of expense that I can only dream of, but I’d like to target a few trips that help grow the Substack and, most importantly, repay you for your support.
Thanks 💗
Daniel
Demi Vollering 🇳🇱
SD Worx-Protime to FDJ SUEZ
We’ve known about the biggest transfer in the women’s peloton since the spring when it was confirmed that Vollering would leave SD Worx, and then we pieced together that a move to FDJ-SUEZ was on the cards.
It’s a huge play by Stephen Delcourt, who has built one of the most respected teams in the WWT. Already among the best in the world, the team now has the most accomplished and complete female rider on the planet, and their reach extends deeper into the Grand Tours and one-day Classics.
