Ian Stannard denies issues with Steve Cummings as Ineos' Director of Racing misses another race
'Steve’s supporting from home' Stannard tells us at Tour of Britain but suggests changes within the DS group
Ineos Grenadiers Director Sportif Ian Stannard has attempted to dispel rumours of yet more change within the management structure at the team while the Director of Racing, Steve Cummings, has not been seen at a race since the Critérium du Dauphiné in June.
Cummings had been named on the provisional start list as DS for Ineos at the 2024 Tour of Britain Men, with Stannard as second DS. The 43-year-old was omitted from the final start list and replaced by Kurt Bogaerts, who has worked closely with Tom Pidcock for several years.

The same pattern occurred at the recent Lidl Deutschland Tour, where Cummings was on the provisional list, but was later replaced by Dario Cioni. Leonardo Basso, a former rider with the team, is also at the Tour of Britain Men as he continues his development as a Director Sportif.
