Ineos' AJ August to lead the United States at Tour de l'Avenir

Andrew ‘AJ’ August (Ineos Grenadiers) will lead the United States team at the upcoming Tour de l'Avenir with the 18-year-old targeting the overall standings at the seven-day race (August 18-24).

The US team were hit by late alteration to their line-up with one rider struck down by COVID-19 but they are still sending a highly competitive squad to the race in a bid to target stage wins and help propel August into the top ten.

The Ineos Grenadiers rider is currently racing his first season in the WorldTour and after a break earlier this summer, the youngster has gone up another level in terms of fitness and form. He was forced to pull out of the recent Tour of Burgos but he and the US camp are confident that the talented rider can hit his stride in what will be a heavily mountainous route in France.
