Ineos Grenadiers: We've got to do the talking on the road 🇬🇧
After a huge overhaul in the performance team, can the British squad return to the top of the sport?
Hi Subscribers,
An Ineos Grenadiers press conference took place this morning. It lasted around an hour, and it covered a lot of ground.
Therefore, we’ll have a couple of stories today, maybe three, as we cover ground on Tom Pidcock, the roster, sponsorship, the development of young talent, changes behind the scenes, and Grand Tour ambitions.
The first story is below and focuses on the team’s assessment of 2024 and various changes that have been made in a bid to try and get the British team back to the top of the sport.
I need to get back to transcribing but I hope you enjoy this story.
Thanks
Daniel

The transition continues.
Twelve months ago John Allert sat before the media and admitted that Ineos Grenadiers were heading into a transitional year.
The 2023 season had returned modest results in comparison to the heydays of Team Sky but the team had still finished second in the Giro, cracked the top-five in the Tour de France, and won two stages.
2024, by comparison, was a disaster, with no Tour stage wins and only 14 victories all season. The team had never been so off the pace in the Tour, and the summer recruitment, for the most part, looked devoid of inspiration.
Add into the mix the long and painful saga involving Tom Pidcock’s departure and the continued dominance of rival teams, and Ineos Grenadiers looked lost at sea.
