Leaked: Despite shock at Premier Tech's departure team promise riders they will 'hit the ground running' in 2026
Internal message shows team management are still moving forward despite the shock of Premier Tech's departure, and sponsorship talks ongoing
It’s fair to say that Premier Tech’s sudden departure from their co-sponsorship duties on a team that now has no title or secondary sponsor caused shock and surprise on Friday afternoon.
But in a leaked internal memo received from two separate sources, team general manager Kjell Carlström assured riders and staff that the team will continue moving forward, with news on the team’s rebranding and sponsorship package set to be announced within the next fortnight.
The message was sent to riders and staff this afternoon, shortly after Premier Tech’s own press release stated that they were severing ties with the team, effective immediately. Here’s the message from Carlström in full.

Hi everyone,
A quick update regarding sponsorship in 2026.
Today, Premier Tech announced their intention to step down as co-title sponsor in 2026. This announcement was not made in consultation with the team which is why we were not in a position to inform internally prior to the announcement. We have many ongoing and exciting conversations with potential partners and we expect to be able to update you all in the coming week.
