Maxim Van Gils and Lotto Dstny have officially parted ways with the rider now free to sign for another team for 2025. It’s expected that Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe will be that team.

Van Gils signed a contract extension with Lotto Dstny earlier this spring with the new terms expected to see the talented Belgian rider remain on the squad until at least the end of 2026. However, after Van Gils switched agents in the summer rumours began to surface of tension within the camp.

Over the last week, Lotto Dstny and Van Gils’ camp have kept silent, but for a short statement that indicated that talks were ongoing over a likely annulment of the rider’s existing deal. That news landed on Thursday.
