Right, let’s get back to writing content. First up today, we have Luke Lamperti. Then we have Florian Vermeersch on the Classics and Pogačar, and then a DS meeting to crash ahead of E3.

Luke Lamperti (Soudal Quick-Step) is busy making up for lost time after an injury-hit off-season forced him to have minor surgery on his knee.

The scar is barely visible now, and the American has hit the ground running with two podiums since his return to racing. With a full schedule of cobbled Classics on his schedule for the coming weeks, including a debut in Paris-Roubaix, the 22-year-old is determined to make the next step in his already impressive career.

We caught up with Lamperti at the start of Classic Brugge-De Panne as he mixed with friends in the main square in Bruges ahead of the race. In relaxed surroundings and with the sun shining, we talked about his injury, comeback, and aims for the year ahead.

“It was a bit of a late start, but luckily, I came back on good form, and I’m trying to make up for lost time, for sure. I had a small knee issue when I started back after off-season, and it took a bit of time to make it 100 per cent. I was lucky that it was in the winter, but it’s just one of those cases where it takes a little longer than we thought,” he told us.

“It was running-related and then a bit of fatigue over time. It’s good to be back, though and in the end, it was quite a small operation. It’s nice to be back at the races quite early. To be going well is really nice,” he added.
