Mark Cavendish will not be part of the XDS Astana Team management in 2025
The sprinter hung up his wheels this year and at one point looked destined to stay with the team
We’ve heard on the grapevine for several weeks that Mark Cavendish would not take up a role within XDS Astana Team management for 2025, and we can now confirm that those whispers are true.
Although there’s no official comment from the team or the former sprinter, we understand that Cavendish has not held active duties within the management for over a month, though he recently made an official visit to some of the team's partners in Taiwan.
Earlier this autumn we did hear a rumour from two sources that Ineos Grenadiers had considered their former rider for a management role, although that information has never been substantiated.
We reached out to Cavendish, 39, for a comment regarding his future, but he did not respond.
