Oscar Onley all-in for Tour Down Under 🏴
Young Scott targets the Tour de France and the Ardennes in 2025 after consistent season
Oscar Onley will return to the Tour Down Under and the Tour de France in 2025 and has thrown his hat in for the Ardennes Classics after enjoying his most consistent season yet in the WorldTour.
The 22-year-old Scott took his first career WorldTour win in 2024, with victory on a memorable stage atop Willunga Hill at the Tour Down Under, before backing that up with second place overall.
The dsm-firmenich PostNL rider was consistent throughout the season, picking up further top-tens on GC in the Tour de Suisse and the Tour de Pologne before closing out his year with two more runner-up spots at the Tour of Britain and the Gree-Tour of Guangxi in China.
Onley also made his Tour debut this season, and although he missed out on a stage win, the young rider is eager to return next season. However, he will start his campaign in Australia once again, where he will undoubtedly be a stage and GC favourite.
“It’s a few weeks until the Tour Down Under, so I’m looking forward to that. I have nice memories from this year, and it’s a good opportunity. The race suits me well, and I know what I need to do in order to get into shape for the race. I’m looking forward to it. It’s also something that excites me, so I might as well go all-in for it,” Onley told us at his team’s recent training camp in Calpe, Spain.
