Hi Subscribers,

The 2024 season saw a raft of new signings and transfers in the men’s WorldTour, with every squad dipping their toes in the market in a bid to bolster their rosters for 2025.

Teams like XDS Astana and Cofidis were extremely busy, bringing in over a dozen riders each, while Picnic PostNL and Lidl-Trek were relatively quiet in terms of volume.

However, quantity and quality are not the same, and some teams required light touch-ups or had very specific needs when it came to the replacement of riders and building for the future. Of course, budgets are also a component in what a team can do, and we’ve tried to factor that into our list as well as analyse and rank the teams from 18-1 and pick out the key signings or re-signings for each team.

And just a reminder, I’ve started a January sale on Substack subscriptions a little early.

For a limited time only, annual subscriptions have ⭐ dropped 20% from £70 to £56 for a year.⭐ A massive thank you to those of you who have signed up in the last three days.

Major signings: None

Major departures: Vincenzo Albanese, Clément Champoussin

They’re strapped for cash, but judging by every metric possible, this was a disaster of a transfer window for the struggling French team. Stripped for assets, they lost Vincenzo Albanese to EF, Clément Champoussin to XDS Astana and Dan McLay to Visma-Lease a Bike. To make matters worse, all the management could do was draft in five recruits from the development team and Victor Guernalec from Bourg-en-Bresse Ain Cyclisme.

None of the development talent stands out, to be quite honest, although they’ll at least be given plenty of chances to improve and impress. Take out Kévin Vauquelin, who has already been strongly linked with a move away in 2026, and Arnaud Demare, and there’s very little to get excited about. If both of those riders and Tour of Oman stage winner Amaury Capiot can fire on all cylinders, maybe there will be something to cheer for, but this is a WorldTour team in name only.
