Red Bull and Soudal quell speculation over Evenepoel's future but talks are ongoing

Some sources continue to state that personal terms have been agreed, but team talks have been halted during what feels like a Tour de France truce. And don't rule out Ineos.

The Tour de France press room is centred and focused on one story right now: the future of Remco Evenepoel. We’ve seen a lot of speculation and unconfirmed reports in the last 24 hours, with neither Red Bull nor Soudal Quick-Step willing to engage extensively in the narrative, but what’s undoubtedly clear is that this saga will rumble on and that the stories about a possible break in the rider’s contract and move away from Soudal Quick-Step have never looked more credible.

I’ve received a lot of information on the matter, but even with genuine sources on every possible side, it’s challenging to piece together the complete picture. And that’s because nothing has been finalised.

Some sources have stated that personal terms have already been agreed, and that only the finalisation of Evenepoel’s departure settlement from Soudal Quick-Step remains to be finalised.

Other sources have stated that talks between the rider and Red Bull have been put on hold for the Tour de France. However, one way or another, the German team appear to be growing in confidence that the double Olympic champion will join either at the end of 2025 or the end of 2026.
