Soudal Quick-Step plan to rescue 'lost' Ethan Hayter
The Belgian team have been chasing the 26-year-old since his U23 days but can they put his career back on track?
One of the least talked about but potentially significant transfers for 2025 could be Ethan Hayter’s switch from Ineos Grenadiers to Soudal Quick-Step.
The British rider signed a two-year deal with the Belgian squad this summer and the move was desperately needed after the rider endured a disappointing season on the road.
Hayter turned professional with Ineos Grenadiers in 2020 following a phase in the U23 ranks in which he won stages in the Baby Giro d’Italia and Tour de l’Avenir.
His first season in the WorldTour saw him win the Giro dell'Appennino, while his second season as a pro ended with him picking up 10 victories. It looked as though the British all-rounder was destined for the very top.
