🚨 Søren Kragh Andersen set to miss Spring Classics 🇩🇰 🤒
Lidl-Trek have a deep pool of understudies and talents to replace the new signing
Update Søren Kragh Andersen: From Lidl-Trek
Søren recently underwent a successful minor surgery to remove a benign pseudotumor in the scrotal region. Whilst he currently is unable to train on the bike due to the location of the surgery, he has started a regime of swimming, running and strength training as he prepares to return to regular on-bike training. Søren will most likely miss the cobbled Classics, however his delayed Lidl-Trek debut is due to take place in April.
“It’s a big disappointment to not be able to join the team for this important first part of the season, but the priority was to sort the medical issue. There’s a lot of work to do to get ready for my Lidl-Trek debut, but I’m fully motivated to get back to my top shape and support the team for the rest of the season.” - Søren Kragh Andersen
Søren Kragh Andersen (Lidl-Trek) has been ruled out of the Spring Classics after undergoing surgery to remove a saddle sore.
The Danish rider moved to Lidl-Trek from Alpecin-Deceuninck during the winter and was set to bolster his new squad’s Classics ambitions alongside Mads Pedersen and Jasper Stuyven.
However, the rider was forced under the knife after the team’s last training camp in January. Because of the nature of the surgery, he cannot be rushed back to action and will, therefore, miss a considerable block of training and racing.
Lidl-Trek’s sports director, Steven de Jongh, confirmed the news at the Volta ao Algarve.
