🚨Tadej Pogačar to skip E3 Saxo Classic, unclear on Gent-Wevelgem
The Slovenian's change of plans look destined to end in a Paris-Roubaix debut
Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) will skip Friday’s E3 Saxo Classic.
It’s unclear if he will also remove Gent-Wevelgem from his race plans this weekend.
Both races were on the rider’s Spring Classics schedule, which was announced at the start of the year. However, the Tour de France winner and world champion will now miss the E3 Saxo Classic.
This is the clearest indication that the Slovenian rider will race Paris-Roubaix later this spring. The Tour of Flanders will remain on the rider’s plans. The news of Pogačar’s absence at E3 Saxo Classic had gathered pace throughout Tuesday and was later confirmed to us and reported by HLN.

“We will have to wait and see what the removal of Pogacar’s name from the provisional list of participants actually means,” E3 race organiser Jacques Coussens told HLN. “But we are very happy that all the other top riders, such as Wout van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel, will definitely be at the start.”
