On Saturday Patrick Lefevere confirmed that Julian Alaphilippe would be leaving Soudal Quick-Step at the end of the year. The announcement brought down the curtain on a relationship going back over a decade and for the first time in his career, Alaphilippe will race for a new team in 2025.
Exactly which team remains unclear. There were reports on Sunday that a deal with Tudor Pro Cycling would be announced in the next two days but we understand that the timelines are a little way off such imminent news, while the Frenchman has confirmed he knows his next team but hasn’t yet officially signed the paperwork.
