Hey Subscribers,

Apologies for two newsletters in quick succession.

We’ll start with the news we initially broke late on Saturday evening on Twitter - but hasn’t been reported elsewhere - with Sam Welsford and Jack Haig both at the Ineos Grenadiers training camp in Spain. We’ve had intel on their arrivals and sightings of both riders while out training with the British team.

As of Friday, we’d heard that Welsford still hadn’t put pen to paper, but given that he’s at the camp, it’s very, very unlikely that he would have made the journey from Nice/Monaco to the southern part of Spain to drop off a cup of sugar. I would expect both him and Haig to be announced in the next 24-48 hours at this point.

These arrivals would put the WorldTour team at 29 riders, but that’s assuming Theodor Storm will be a WorldTour rider next season and not serve another year in the U23 ranks. One excellent source has told me he’s on the U23 squad, but neither the rider nor the team has confirmed it.

The next critical situation to monitor, at least for me, is whether Oscar Onley heads to Spain for the Picnic PostNL camp - I’ll be asking the team for photographic proof of Onley alongside a copy of today’s newspaper - or whether he heads down to the road to Ineos, or stays away completely, following our breaking news last week that Ineos were pushing for a last-minute deal to sign the Tour de France star.

We’re also getting more clarity on the make-up of the Ineos Grenadiers U23 team.
