Who could we see at the Giro d'Italia in 2025? 🇮🇹
Analysing what we know about the route so far and selecting riders who could and should make an appearance
We’re still waiting for the official 2025 Giro d’Italia (May 9 to June 1) men’s route to drop in January but from what we’re reading online and hearing from our sources, the start in Albania will go ahead, with three stages taking place in the country before a day-long transfer to Alberobello and the first Italian stage finish in Lecce on May 13.
So far, we’ve seen snippets and rumours surrounding the race route in the press but we’ve gathered more intel when it comes to the route - as it stands.
Although it’s not confirmed, it looks like we’ll have three major summit finishes in the last week, with the Colle delle Finestre, Mortirolo, and Sestriere all featuring before the race heads to Rome on June 1.
From what we understand there will be two time trial stages - one on stage 2, and another deeper into the race on stage 10.
In this 2,000-word analysis story, we’ll piece together the parcours and pick 10 GC riders who could make an appearance.
We’ll also look at the likely sprinters, considering the number of stages designed for them.
