Yves Lampaert: It’s still a big question of where I’ll end up next year

Yves Lampaert (Soudal Quick-Step) aims to let his legs do the talking in the Spring Classics. The veteran rider knows that his performances from Opening Weekend through to Paris-Roubaix in April will majorly affect his contract situation.

The 33-year-old's contract with the Belgian team is up for renewal, and even though this is his 11th season on the squad, his future is uncertain.

Former Tour de France stage winner, yellow jersey holder, and podium finisher in Paris-Roubaix, Lampaert will commence his cobbled Classics season at Omloop Nieuwsblad on Saturday before competing in Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne the following day.

“The form is coming slowly, but it’s coming bit by bit. We’ll give our best, like every year. I think that with Tim Merlier and Paul Magnier, we have two good riders to go for victories, and personally, it’s a question of where I’ll land this year. I’d like to ride in the finals and be up there in the races,” the Belgian recently told us at the Volta ao Algarve.
