Tadej Pogačar signs six-year contract extension 🌈
Best rider in the men's peloton commits his future to UAE Team Emirates
Tadej Pogačar has signed a whopping six-year contract extension with UAE Team Emirates until the end of 2030.
The Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and Worlds winner announced the news via his team during a trip to the UAE.
“I am extremely proud to be extending my time here at UAE Team Emirates. This team has been my home now the last five years and I truly can’t imagine myself anywhere else,” he said.

“The best moments of my career have come at UAE Team Emirates and that is a testament to all of the staff, management, teammates, and partners who all allow me to perform at the highest level. I’m really excited for the future. This team gives me the best chance at fighting for wins and that is exactly what I aim to do.”
Pogačar turned pro with Mauro Gianetti’s team in 2019 and made an instant impression with three stages wins and third overall in the Vuelta a España. He won the Tour de France on his debut a year later and doubled up with a second Tour title in 2021.
Jonas Vingegaard nudged the Slovenian into second place two years running in 2022 and 2023 but Pogačar was in a league of his own in 2024, winning everything in sight. He took 25 victories in just 58 days of racing.
“It’s an incredible feeling to be able to announce this contract extension for Tadej Pogacar, the leader of our team and the best cyclist in the world. Tadej joined the team as an ambitious 20-year-old, and we have watched him blossom into a Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, and World Champion this season. His talent is clear for all to see, but he is also one of the hardest-working and dedicated cyclists in the peloton. Tadej deserves all of his success and I’m delighted he is staying with us for many years to come,” Mauro Gianetti said.
Pogačar’s 2025 race programme will be settled in the coming weeks but the general theory is that he will defend his Tour de France title and potentially race a full calendar of Spring Classics - minus Paris-Roubaix. He has ruled out taking on all three Grand Tours in one single season.
