Hello Subscribers,

Another day, another spectacular stage at this year’s Tour de France.

It’s only stage 2 and we’ve had two winning performances from breaks, along with a glimpse into how the fight for the yellow jersey will play out over the next three weeks.

France secured its second stage win in as many days, courtesy of Kévin Vauquelin (Arkéa - B&B Hotels), and Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) moved into the overall lead.

While the sight of the Slovenian atop the standings of a Grand Tour is nothing new, there were various subplots within today’s action that need analysis. Firstly, Remco Evenepoel, Richard Carapaz and especially Jonas Vingegaard looked ready for the fight but Ineos Grenadiers and Primož Roglič were put on the back foot on the Cote de San Luca.

Read on for your daily Tour de France bulletin.
