Maxim Van Gils wants leadership for the Classics and a three-year deal
Red Bull, Astana in pole position but Ineos and Movistar remain on the fringes
Maxim Van Gils dissolved his contract with Lotto Dstny on Thursday but the Belgian rider is still on the market according to his agent, Alex Carera.
The Italian rider agent, who also represents Tadej Pogačar, and previously worked for Vincenzo Nibali and Chris Froome, told us exclusively the Belgian rider has four suitors chasing his signature, with Astana and Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe both sitting on pole position at the moment.
Movistar and Ineos Grenadiers are also in the running but not quite at the same level as the two front runners.

“It’s not just about the economics but the entire project. Today Maxim was busy with his family but we closed the deal with Lotto in the morning and in the next couple of days we’ll decide his future,” Carera told us on the phone this evening.
