Stick or twist: How close are Ineos Grenadiers to winning the Tour de France?

Ineos Grenadiers haven’t won a Tour de France title since 2019, and barring a major shock, the drought shows no sign of ending this year.
The British team dominated the Tour between 2012 and 2019, winning seven editions with four separate riders. But despite reaching the podium twice since their last victory, the squad has struggled to mount a genuine tilt for the yellow jersey.
Carlos Rodríguez was fifth in the race last year, and once more leads the line, but Egan Bernal, Thomas Pidcock, and Geraint Thomas are unlikely to challenge for top honours in the immediate years ahead. Thomas, a proven leader through and through, is coming in the final year of his career, Bernal hasn’t made the top ten in a Grand Tour since 2021, and Pidcock has shown flashes of brilliance but has not yet demonstrated that he can hold it together for three weeks.
